    Liposuction

    Liposuction is a body contouring procedure where areas of excess fat can be permanently reshaped. Liposuction can be performed with either local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The advantages of liposuction over some of the popular noninvasive modalities include being able to treat multiple areas in one procedure and being able to achieve predictable and consistent results. Liposuction can also provide a source of fat for fat grafting if this is part of your aesthetic plan. 


    Liposuction can be a stand-alone procedure or combined with other procedures like abdominoplasties, breast contouring, facelifts, et cetera. 


    Liposuction is not a form of surgical weight loss; liposuction is helpful for body contouring only. Liposuction will also not improve loose or saggy skin.


    Fat that is removed with liposuction is permanently removed; it does not move to other areas. Even though those fat cells are permanently gone, it is possible to plump up the remaining fat cells with unhealthy lifestyle choices.
